Where to watch the rest of TLOK Book 3: Change
Posted by Icy_Ashford on July 31st, 2014 @ 9:42 AM EST (765)

Korra's move to digital was indeed confirmed at San Diego Comic Con (we'll have a post summarizing all the new info from SDCC sometime soon). Starting this coming Friday, August 1st, new episodes of The Legend of Korra will be released every Friday at 12pm (noon) Eastern time on nick.com/korra, the official Korra site. The website is region-locked, so international viewers will unfortunately not be able to stream the episodes there.

So remember to tune in this Friday at noon ET for the very first new TLOK web-premiere -- episode 309, The Stakeout (episode summary: Korra learns the truth about the group that is planning to destroy her).
TLOK "moving to digital"

Korra moving to digital
"Korra not cancelled. Moving to digital. We'll talk at SDCC. Thanks for caring."

These were the words of ATLA and TLOK co-creator Bryan Konietzko in response to a tense afternoon in the Korra fandom after the nickandmore website broke the news that Nickelodeon would stop airing two episodes per week, pulling the last five episodes of Book 3 from its airing schedule.

Co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino also commented, on his facebook page:

"Hang tight, Korra fans. There is 1 new episode this Friday at 8, then the rest of the season will be available from various sites online. We'll let you know when we have more details. Thanks!"

What does this mean? It sounds like we'll get to see one more TLOK episode on TV and then after that the rest of Book 3 will only be available online (but where -- nick.com? iTunes? somewhere else?). However, we won't know for certain until the official TLOK panel at SDCC happens this coming Friday, July 25th.

We'll post more details as they become available.

UPDATE (24/july/2014) - Mike DiMartino added later last night, in his facebook page:

"Hey everyone! I appreciate all the support for the show and share your frustration. But the good news is, you will be able to see the rest of Book 3 of Korra, I just don't know all the details yet. And there is most definitely a Book 4. All the pre-production is done and Studio Mir is hard at work on the animation. So this was a disappointing development for sure but as long as you all are able to see the show in some capacity, I'm grateful. And honestly, you're all watching it online anyway, right? :) "

And the newest comes from KorraNation, who reaffirm that we will get to see episode 308 on TV this week and then the rest of Book 3 will be available online: "[...] the remaining episodes will roll out weekly on Nick.com and the Nick app beginning August 1, as well as on platforms like Amazon, Google Play, Xbox and Hulu."

We'll update again (or write a new post, most likely) once we get more information at SDCC tomorrow.
