The Legend of Korra complete box set
Bryan just posted a final cover art for The Legend of Korra complete series DVD/Blu-ray set on his tumblr blog. I am surprised as it took Avatar: The Last Airbender years before a complete series set was announced on July 2015.

Nothing is known about when the TLOK set will be released and if it contains any special features. Hopefully we will get more news in the future!

UPDATE: Bryan clarified that this complete series box set is only planned as an international (non-U.S.) release, starting with Australia on 15th November. He is unsure what other territories would get this and if the U.S. will get this release.

Smoke and Shadow Part 3
Via ATLA Online comes the cover image, release date, and summary info for the third comic in the Smoke and Shadow series. You can see the cover image here on the left. The description, found on Amazon (where you can now preorder it) reads as follows:

"Children are disappearing in the Fire Nation capitol! Avatar Aang and his friends are doing everything in their power to save them--but will it be enough?!

What's worse, when Azula--the mad sister of Fire Lord Zuko--appears on the scene, Zuko locks down the capitol to catch her, igniting fear and riots in the streets! Will Zuko follow in his evil father's footsteps in order to save those he holds dear?!"

Azula!!! Azula's back! Wooo!!!

Smoke and Shadow Part 3 will be released on April 12, 2016.

Finally, as a reminder, our ATLA Books page has details and information about all the Avatar comics and other books that have been released so far.

Avatar: The Last Airbender DVD complete box set
We've got some ATLA related news! At SDCC 2015 last week, Gene Luen Yang, writer for the Avatar: The Last Airbender comics published by Dark Horse, won an Esiner Award for "Best Writer" for his work on the ATLA comic and the graphic novel "The Shadow Hero". Congratulations to Gene! You can read the full list of winners in this IGN article and also glimpse at some pictures of Gene accepting the award in this post.

In other news according to Bryan's tumblr post, it seems there will be a newly-packaged DVD box set for the complete series of Avatar: The Last Airbender that would go on sale in the United States and Canada on October 6th this year. A picture of Aang is embedded in this post and you click on the image for a full view. You can also read Bryan's post to see more cover art of each book featuring the other main characters of the show.

I think it's amazing that after all these years, we finally get a complete series DVD box set. Maybe there would be one for The Legend of Korra series down the road too? We can only wait and see...

Korra statue
Korra comics
We've got a couple of news to share about Avatar that were revealed at SDCC. First, this Korra statue (you can click on the image to expand) is the latest addition of merchandise made by Dark Horse. If you remembered their announcement last year, Dark Horse did say they will be producing both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra merchandise. I'm looking forward to more amazing statues of the other characters too, if they ever make them.

Secondly, as expected, Dark Horse will also release The Legend of Korra comics and the storyline will be set after Book 4: Balance. According to Bryan's tumblr post, Mike will be writing it and Bryan will be consulting on the art. The image is one made by Bryan as an announcement for the Dark Horse panel which IGN has an article describing on the things that were said at the panel. Whether this is the finalized cover of the first of three volumes is still unknown but hopefully, we will get to see more art in the time to come. I'm personally interested to know if we will see more of Kuvira after she was taken away by the Republic City police in the finale. Does she go on trial for her crimes? Are there any of her people in the Earth Kingdom who are going to take it upon themselves to carry on her legacy? It's a mystery.
