Fourth Avatar comics trilogy announced: "Smoke and Shadow"

Smoke And Shadow Part 1 Smoke And Shadow Part 2
Comic Book Resources announced yesterday the continuation of the Avatar comics series written by Gene Luen Yang and illustrated by Gurihiru.

The fourth trilogy will be titled Smoke and Shadow (it doesn't start with "The"!), and takes place after the events of The Rift (the third trilogy, after "The Promise" which was the first, and "The Search" which came second).

The story focus will be "on the Fire Nation and a segment of the population none too happy with the rule of Fire Lord Zuko".

The comic will go into detail about a group of people we first met on the ATLA Free Comic Book Day 2013 comic titled Rebound -- the New Ozai Society, a group of malcontents who are rebelling against the new post-war government of the Fire Nation, and whose leader is Mai's father.

Will Mai and Zuko get back together? Will we see Azula again? Will Zuko suffer through yet more assassination attempts? (poor kid). We'll need to wait until September 23, 2015 for the release of Smoke and Shadow, Part 1, to start finding out!

The CBR article also includes an interview with Gene, and images of the covers for the first two books in the trilogy, which we have reproduced here on the right. Click on the thumbnails to see the cover images at full size.

Yay for more Avatar comics!

The Legend of Korra panel footage from NYCC 2014
Posted by Icy_Ashford on October 13th, 2014 @ 9:53 AM EST (778)

During the last Korra panel at NYCC, the panel was livestreamed along with the episode that was screened, much to the delight of fans on the internet who were not able to make it to NYCC.

Now that the livestream is over, you can watch the entire panel, minus the episode, over at FTSWPodcast on YouTube. It is quite funny and also heartwarming.
