As promised, folks, we've just published the first installment of our interview with Sifu Kisu of the Harmonious Fist Chinese Athletic Association, the Martial Arts Consultant for the show, who was also featured in the recently released Avatar edition of "Nick Mag Presents".

Sifu Kisu was very generous in responding to our questions, so each subsection is too large to post in full here on the ASN news section. You can read the full trancript of this first installment, however, on the ASN Interview page here: Interview with Sifu Kisu (Part I).

This part of the interview deals with questions around how he got involved with the show, his current role, and how he interacts with others on the staff. Here are a few quotes from his responses to give you an idea of what you'll read in the full interview:

"I liked Bryan because of his dedication and told him I'd be interested to see storyboards of the action sequences. I was blown away when I finally saw them."

"I NEVER READ THE SCRIPTS, only the action break downs. I am Avatar’s biggest fan. I don’t want to ruin the surprise of what is coming next."

"Bryan [Konietzko] is a super intelligent person and has internalized all of the teachings I have shared with him. Sometimes when I watch the show I hear many of my lessons echoed back to me verbatim. I feel rather complete that someone actually gets what I am saying as many people come and go in martial arts experiencing, but not retaining."

Those are just a few quotes from this interview which we'll publish in pieces over the next several weeks. We hope you enjoy this exciting look into one of the key areas that makes Avatar such an excellent show!
