Newsarama has posted a short, but interesting interview with Avatar co-creator Michael DiMartino. The interview covers various aspects of season 3 as well as a question about the upcoming live action movies. Specific questions included whether Kuruk and Yangchen will show up in season 3, the strong role of the themes of redemption and forgiveness in the series and a few questions about the future of Avatar. When the article was first published earlier today, many people noted that the introductory paragraph claimed that three additional seasons of Avatar beyond season three were in the works. We contacted Nickelodeon, however, and unfortunately no animation past this season is in the works at this time. The article has since been corrected to leave open, but uncertain, the possibility of future seasons or animated shows within the Avatar universe.

Let's all hope for the best!
